I recently trashed many emails from my mac mail (at least thought i had). Still showing that i have 4,000 mails in my in box, but doesn't seem to be that many. Are they stored somewhere else after in-box gets to a certain total?

..uh , yeah .
.they are stored on remote Apple® servers that are probably flushed every night at 00:00 PST ≠
..not that i really know, ok ? My I S P AT&T gives me 1/2 Gig of storage space
and seems to flush things periodically..not immediately . i do not store e-mail on my
own machine

I am assuming you are using "Mail" - you did not tell us that....

mail is also accessible via my server's site but if I delete from there, it makes no difference to total in 'mail' window.
perhaps i should ask this question .. if the header in inbox says (4000 messages), should that technically mean that there are 4000 viewable in the inbox window? -
