i have no clue . If it was ever registered with Apple® you can get the key back , though , and download a fresh version
Did you back it up as a copy, possibly ? There is a receipt on you 'puter probably, still , in the receipts file
Just go to Quicktime dot com and see if your sign in and password still works or mac dot com ?
if you search for Quicktime ..a backup might be there somewhere . .on your hard disk drive (s)

To be more clear.....

it is all about the version number.
sure you have "QT 7.4.5" that is most current for your OS.

now, what is the version of your Key?

if it is not "QT 7" then it has served it's usefulness, and time for a new Key.

Depends on the key you have. If you have a QT 6 key, it will only work for version 6, not version 7.

If you are currently running 10.4 or 10.5, you cannot use QT 6. If you want QT Pro for these, you'll need to purchase a new key.
If you are still on 10.3.9, you might be able to downgrade QT to version 6 via www.apple.com/support/dow...time701.html

Regardless of version, you'll only benefit if you plan to use the authoring/editing functions of QT.
